Why We Built This Site
Pennsylvania gives the public broad access to judicial records, and Erie County splits access by office. The Clerk of Records umbrella runs the Prothonotary, Clerk of Courts, Clerk of Orphans' Court, Register of Wills, and Marriage Bureau functions. Lower courts and county criminal channels add another layer. We built this reference to keep Erie County’s structure usable: where the record is created, where to request copies, and which portal is likely to return results.

What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. We have no connection to any Pennsylvania court, clerk's office, sheriff's office, or state agency. There are real limits to what we can help with:
- We cannot file paperwork or send records requests on your behalf
- We cannot issue certified copies of any court document or vital record
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or address listed on this site is current right now
Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.
Search Channels
Some Erie County pages include external U.S. and Pennsylvania portals such as UJS and CourtPro. Others are county-maintained request pathways with phone/fax alternatives. The goal is to show each channel so users can move quickly between official sources without guessing which court or office should receive a request.
